What's a safety code?

In order to increase the security you are urged to enter the three last digits in the signatur field on the back side of your card. CVV2 is the term for VISA's safety code and CVC2 is the term for MasterCard's safety code. In average these codes are called Safety codes or safety numbers. This code is sent to the card issuer for control and verification.

Where do I find the code on the card?

On Visa, Mastercard and Eurocard you will find the code, which is the last three digits in the signatur field, on the back side of your card. See below.

Why must I enter the safety code?

In order to increase the security. These numbers are randomly manufactured by the card issuer and can only be used as verification for purchases online or over a distance.

Verified by Visa is Visa's product for the 3 D-Secure standard of secure identification of a card holder during online transactions.

Card issuer's that has offered their customer's this service will be able to identify and verify the card holders identity in a secure way. The card holder will be linked to the card issuer to enter username and password.

MasterCard SecureCode

Mastercard SecureCode is Mastercard's product for the 3 D-Secure standard of secure identification of a card holder during online transactions.
